A deep dive into the mysteries of the “The Devil’s Triangle”. We begin with a brief chronology of some of the more well known and unsolved disappearances. In 1975, the U.S. Navy reports about 9000 search and rescue calls in the region per year.
The clip continues with Geraldo joining a flight recreating the journey of Flight 19, a squadron of bombers that disappeared without a trace. During the flight, we observe instrument anomalies and throughout the program Geraldo consults naval officers, scientists and even psychics to put together facts surrounding this triangle in the sea.
Flight 19 resulted in the loss of 5 naval aircraft, as well as the 14 crew members that flew them, in 1945, all without a trace. 13 additional personnel and the craft they flew were lost during the subsequent search effort.
The Bermuda Triangle has captured imaginations since the early 1900s at least, as a result of dozens of unexplained disappearances in the region. Many of these mysteries remain unsolved. We continue to wonder — myth of the sea or supernatural phenomena?
