This segment form New Orleans, a place with a long history of colorful politicians. We remember last year’s Louisiana governor race between KKK Klansman David Duke and Edwin Edwards, a man indicted on racketeering charges and notorious with women. Despite his win and position as sitting governor, Mr. Edwin makes it to Las Vegas for some leisure time.
Next we move to a larger issue: the professional muckrakers hired by political campaigns to dig up dirt on their opponents, i.e. ‘opposition resource’. Scandal guaranteed.
Negative campaigning remains widespread and many of the figures shown and discussed in this segment are still in politics today.
Here for more American history.
