Nicaragua, where a large swath of the country is rebelling against the government of General Anastasio Somoza. Violence is almost a nightly occurrence all over the country, with the poorest joined by students and other groups in their protests against the authoritarian government. The average per capita income in Nicaragua at this time is under $750 per year, while President Somoza and his family are worth upwards of 500 million dollars.
