“…talk us through why this joke in particular was so offensive to you.”

Geraldo Rivera: “It was racist, low down and dirty. It was a grievous insult. It was an attack on our heritage, on our ethnicity, on our history. It was insulting and low-brow and it really seemed…if it were a comedian in a vacuum. Let’s say you go down to a comedy club, to be told that particular joke. But to do it before the entire world in a political contest, in what was supposed to be Donald Trump’s farewell address before the election. In that kind of state was so..grievous and insulting, so racist. So demeaning, that I could not help but stress my absolute disdain and dismay at president Trump. Because even though he says they do not vet the comedian’s jokes, which I find impossible to believe, even so, to give the…you know they killed other jokes, involving the C word, addressed at vice president Harris, other kind of low brow…the whole atmosphere in that rally, in that fabled hall, Madison Square Garden. It stunk. It stunk of racism. It stunk of disdain for the Puerto Rican family.”
